Core on the Floor
Designed to increase the strength of the muscles of the torso to support balance and posture.
Employing a mix of standing, seated, and floor exercises this 1-hour class focuses on building a strong foundation of core muscles. Core muscles include not only the abdominal muscles but also the shoulders, back, and hips. Alternate versions of most exercises are given in order to make this class gentle enough for beginners but challenging enough for those already familiar with exercise. The Core on the Floor class is offered on Mondays from 8:45 - 9:45 am.
You will require dumbells and a resistance band to participate. Occasionally other equipment such as an inflatable ball or "gliders" are incorporated to add variety to the exercises. A sturdy chair without arms is recommended. You may also wish to have a mat for floor work.
