Focus on Hips and Knees
Specifically designed for participants who have had, are preparing for, or are trying to avoid replacement surgery.
Carefully chosen exercises are performed to strengthen and stretch the muscles that support the joints of the hips and knees. Special precaution is taken to avoid stressing compromised joints. Modifications are given to accommodate any doctors' recommendations. This is an hour-long class that incorporates both seated and standing exercises. The Focus on Hips and Knees class is offered on Wednesday from 8:45 - 9:45 am.
You will require dumbells and a resistance band to participate. Occasionally other equipment such as an inflatable ball or "gliders" are incorporated to add variety to the exercises. A sturdy chair without arms is recommended.
